An unusual surviving shoe-man's physical promotional tool. N.d., circa 1930. Four pairs, and nine singleton shoes. Longest shoe is almost tip to back; shortest is 8 cm. Tallest boot is not quite 12 cm top to bottom. Six of the shoes have miniature shoe trees inserted as well. The rest have cotton or crushed paper inserted to help maintain their shape. About half of the shoes are men's shoes, the other half, women's. The pair of riding boots could be men's or women's, of course. Most of the pairs are somewhat dressy, although there is a single women's suede house slipper and a pair of white shoes worn by nurses. More stylish is a woman's low heeled shoe using alligator or snake skin and a woman's open toe sandal with stiletto heels. Among the men's shoes, which lean toward the workman-like blucher variety, there is a two-toned club shoe with an upper of cross-hatched leather. Dating based on styles, which are generally recognizably modern in their most general structure or styling. Cond
