No place, presumed London or New York: 1894. Die cut easel back paper doll with die cut dresses and hats. All in color. The doll measures about 10 inches from head to toe. All appear to be from Artistic Series I, with copyright dates of 1894. The firm Raphael Tuck began in 1866, manufacturing a variety of paper items, and issued their first paper doll in 1893, being a baby with a nursing bottle. This doll is a girl, and features dresses labeled artistic Series Ic and Ie, dresses and hats I A, I B, I D, I F. All in GOOD to VERY GOOD condition. The doll is complete, although is missing the easel tab on the reverse. The fronts of all items are still colorful and complete, with a few bearing a few small spots of staining. Some of the dresses are missing the tabs on the reverse, or bear some tape staining, with two bearing a tack hole sized puncture at the neck edge.
