Cabinet card depicting a rocky canyon scene along the Atlantic & Pacific Railroad, likely in Arizona. Black and buff card measures 5 ¼" x 8 ½". Photographer's imprint on verso: "Parker, Photographer, 740 Fifth Street, San Diego, Cal." Card has light soiling; photo has light yellowing and foxing. Francis Parker (1827-1920) was active in California, Arizona and Texas throughout from the 1870s to about 1910. He worked out of 740 Fifth Street, San Diego from 1878-80. The Atlantic & Pacific Railroad had two disjointed segments, one in the Midwest, and one in the southwest, connecting New Mexico to Southern California.
