First Edition. Artist's book published on the occasion of an exhibition held Mulhouse Muse_e des Beaux Arts, 26 Mar. - 24 May 1987; Dole, Muse des Beaux Arts, 17 Oct. - 22 Nov. 1987. Consists of a leather bound book or journal, in this case the 1900 volume of Revue de Paris, with the pages glued together to form a solid block hollowed out to provide a container for the 15 (flash) cards with leaflet tipped in to prelims. The cards have colour illustrations of Calus sculptures and objects. The 7 page leaflet has a parallel text in French and German 15 cards : illustrations ; 12 x 9 cm in 1 volume [24 x 15 x 6 cm + 1 folded leaflet [7]] pages, Half leather bound book lettered and decorated gilt at the spine with marbled boards and small colour Claus image pasted to front corner. An attractive and odd art piece. A similar copy can be found at WorldCat with 2 holdings noted, one at Kunst- und Museumsbibliothek der Stadt Kln and the other in The Tate in London.
