Antique 19th century atlas map with original hand colouring; William Home Lizars (1842). 41.5 x 52.5cm, 16.25 x 20.75 inches; this is a folding map. Condition: Good. There is nothing printed on the reverse side, which is plain. The map names "Grain" (Kuwait), and Bahrain. The Zara river (being the name given to Dubai Creek by the Ancient Greeks) is marked but not named on the map extending inland. At its mouth is marked a building or tower marked as "Seer", probably the al Fahidi Fort, the oldest part of which was contructed in 1787.
