Original staple-bound green wraps decoratively titled in black and white. 44pp including many b/w photos and diagrams, with the Construction Department's inquiries slip bound in opposite the title. Very good, creased to the lower right corner, staples rusted. Extremely rare, not recorded on Worldcat or Library Hub, not in the BP Archive, with no other references found online. Prior to its acquisition by the Anglo Persian Oil Company in 1917, the British Petroleum Company was part of the German company Europaische Petroleum Union GmbH, formed in 1906 to sell Shell products in the UK. This brochure promotes itself to the British Admiralty, Government, public services and industry, encouraging the switch from coal. It is undated but c1909, presenting petroleum production data for 1908, with Persia listed among a group of non-producers where prospecting was underway (production began in 1909).
