Poster published by the International Union of Students promoting a regional Asian and Pacific student meeting in advance of the World Student Forum, under the banner of "Education and Society," in Pyongyang, the capital of North Korea (DPRK). These were among the original preparations for the 13th World Festival of Youth and Students, which took place in Pyongyang in 1989, and was the festival's largest event. This poster documents one of the few mass international gatherings in North Korea; the festivals preparations occupied a large part of the DPRK's economy in the preceding four years. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this item will be donated to the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU).
