Gilt-blocked black cloth over boards with deeply stamped bright gilt titling on front and spine. Book is tight, square and free of all markings inside other than an inscription and autograph by the author dated 1936 on the title page in blue ink. Title page is printed with red lettering. Only flaw of the book is a small dent on the top of the front cover. Unclipped Dust Jacket is Very Good or better with some mild staining on front, moderate soiling on white colored back, and a tear and subsequent missing piece at the bottom of the spine. Front is still bright yellow with no fading - see pcitures. Really nice copy of this fairly scarce book by the same author as "Noguchi, Lives". This is really a story of canaries: "Forget what you know of clean yellow canaires in clean yellow cages.
