DAVID MILNE (1805-1890), afterwards MILNE-HOME, geologist and mineralogist, 1847, was against Darwin's interpretation of Glen Roy, and a frequent correspondent. He was one of the founders of the Scottish Meteorological Society and the first to advocate the use of Ben Nevis as the site of a high-level observatory.
