André Herbelin (André René Celestin Herbelin) - French World War I Fighter Ace, 11 Victories; 8e Regiment du train des equipages, Escadrille 102, Escadrille 81, Escadrille 97. Awards: Légion d'Honneur, Médaille Militaire, Croix de Guerre avec Sept Palmes. Inscribed photo and inscribed calling card. See scans. These were signed and inscribed to an American collector in the mid-sixties, probably 1965 or1966, shortly before Herbelin passed away in December of 1966. WWI / Military Ephemera. The photograph is 6 13/16" x 4 3/4" , glossy, and is of a 1918 cover of "La Guerre Aérienne", which itself bore a photo of Herbelin by a wrecked, not identified here as to type, but it was his sixth 'victim' as noted in the photo-in-photo caption. Inscription, translated: "To my friend______, affectionate souvenir of 1914-1918 aviation".
