Original wash colour; light toning to the centrefold due to guard paste, otherwise overall a fine example. A superb plan of Amsterdam in fresh early colour. It shows a panoramic view of the city below and decorated in fine allegorical vignettes either side representing global trade. Two numbered tables, with up to 286 fortifications and streets named. Most indicative of the importance of trade to Amsterdam are the presence of the warehouses for the Dutch East and West India Companies. An early issue without privilage.
